All persons who apply for Initial Licensure must complete or have completed the IC&RC AODA Counselor Level written examination (administered after June 2008).  ALL ACADEMIC COURSEWORK MUST BE COMPLETED before you can be approved to sit for the examination!

The examination is now available on-demand and is computer-based.  This means testing is available all year long and almost any time you wish to take it.  In order to get approved for testing, you must submit a completed Licensure Examination Application and the $155 examination fee to the NDBACE.

Once the NDBACE grants approval, you will receive an email message from the exam administrator containing information about how to register for an examination date, time, and location.  Length of time to receive approval             ranges from 1 week (if all your academic coursework was previously verified by NDBACE as complete) to several weeks (if you are submitting your academic coursework for review with your examination application).  If you don't             receive an email message from the examination administrator after the suggested amount of time, please contact the NDBACE Office.  NOTE:  You must bring a copy of the email with you to the exam!
